SDSL - (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) uses a dedicated standard copper line (a normal analogue line such as the one you would have at home). SDSL is ideal where there is a requirement for high bandwidth data transfer both up and downstream. This service is very similar to ADSL with the key difference being that just like an expensive, dedicated ISDN line for internet access, an SDSL connection provides the same levels of bandwidth and speed (speed of data transfer) both when uploading files and downloading files.
In the majority of cases, SDSL is considerably cheaper than the alternative ISDN line that might usually be used. More over, existing ISDN users can usually convert lines to SDSL with nominal changes to equipment. The only disadvantage of SDSL is that it's not available everywhere in the country.
